Conducting a real AI conversation with Ende

Propose a prompt and build upon the answer, without losing sight of your goal.

After this lesson

You will conduct a short practice conversation consisting of an initial task, a targeted follow-up question, and your own review.

In view · An improvement loop

A conversation gets a targeted second round

  1. Start with a small task and fictitious facts that you can check yourself.

  2. Ask for one concrete improvement and state which facts must remain the same.

  3. Check the final text against the original source, even after a smooth answer.

Remember: A real model answer remains a proposal that you test against the source. Open het volledige schema ↗

Start with a small, verifiable task

Choose a task for which you know the facts yourself. For example, an invitation based on three fictitious appointments. Provide the task, source data, target audience, and desired format. With Ende, you will receive a model answer if the AI connection is available. This makes the conversation freer than a multiple-choice case, but the answer can still contain errors. Do not use real customer data for testing.

Send only one part at a time

Read the answer first. Then, for example, ask for a shorter version, a clearer tone, or the retention of an important reservation. Refer to the same source and state what should remain the same. A single targeted change makes it easier to assess the effect of your follow-up question. In this course, the conversation history is limited; provide relevant facts again when you start a new conversation.

Conclude with your own review

Compare the final text with the source text. Are all times correct? Has a missing date truly remained unknown? A friendly formulation or quick response does not prove accuracy. Save a useful prompt and a short note about your review outside the conversation if you wish to keep them. A free AI conversation does not result in automatic lesson completion or an independent skill score.

New practice example

From explanation to a usable result.

In a practice conversation, improve the answer by asking one concrete follow-up question and comparing the effect.

Fictional practice situation

A fictitious neighbourhood walk starts on Sunday at the station. The hour is unknown. You want a short invitation without a made-up route or calendar date.

View a possible solution

This is how it can be done

Start with the source and ask for a maximum of 60 words. Check the answer. Then ask: "Make it a maximum of 30 words and ensure the starting hour is still included." Compare whether the unknown hour remains visible in the shorter version.

Why this works

A conversation can build on previous text, but can also adopt incorrect details. Your control remains necessary after every change.

Make it slightly more difficult

Request a third version for a poster. Note which difference arose due to your new instruction and which source fact remained the same in all versions.

Extra practice, at your own pace. You do not need to submit anything. This does not count towards an automatic assessment.

Why this approach works

A conversation can build on previous text, but can also adopt incorrect details. Your control remains necessary after every change.

A step further

Request a third version for a poster. Note which difference arose due to your new instruction and which source fact remained the same in all versions.

A prompt to get you started

Write an invitation of maximum 50 words for new local residents. Fictitious source: free online neighbourhood workshop on Saturday from 10 to 11 o'clock. Use only these facts; do not invent a calendar date or registration procedure. Follow-up question after your first answer: make the same invitation shorter, but retain all source facts.

Apply it

You asked Ende to write an invitation. In the second round, you only want to adjust the tone, but the new text omits the end time.

Two rounds with Ende. Illustration for the question.

Which approach best fits this situation?

  • Request the tone change again with the explicit requirement to retain all source facts and check both times.
  • Use the new version because a warm tone is more important than the end time.
  • Let the model choose a new end time itself.

With JavaScript, you can check your approach and receive immediate feedback.

Test your insight

A targeted follow-up question. Illustration for the question.

What makes a follow-up question most verifiable?

  • Only saying: make it better.
  • Requesting one concrete change and specifying which source facts must be retained.
  • Assuming that the model always knows your entire history.
Extra practice

Conduct two rounds with Ende. Note which change you requested and check whether both times were retained.

First round: an invitation based on the fictitious source. Second round: maximum 25 words, including Saturday, 10 to 11 o'clock, free and online. My review compares each of these facts with the source; I will remove any invented registration link.
