Uploading and analysing documents
Use AI to summarise a document or ask questions about it.
After this lesson
You upload a document and ask for a targeted analysis without AI inventing information.
In view · Step by step
A targeted question to a document
Choose a document that you are permitted to use in this environment.
Request a specific analysis with references to the original.
Self-review conclusions, citations, and missing information.
Part 1 of 3 · Allowed file
Your preference for less movement is on. Choose each part yourself.
Choose the right document
Use documents that you are allowed to share. Avoid confidential files unless the tool permits it.
Ask targeted questions
Ask for a summary, specific passages or outstanding questions.
Check
Compare the analysis with the original document.
New practice example
From explanation to a usable result.
Having a file analysed requires a defined question and a check of whether the relevant parts were read correctly.
Fictional practice situationA fictitious report has text about twelve participants, but a table mentions ten attendees and two cancellations. You ask for a short attendance summary.
View a possible solution
This is how it can be done
Ask separately for registered participants, attendees, and cancellations. Have each value refer to the relevant passage or table. The answer "twelve attendees" is rejected, even if the report is neatly summarised.
Why this works
Files can combine text, tables, and images. A successful upload does not prove that every component was correctly interpreted.
Make it slightly more difficult
Make a copy of the practice table with one empty field. How should the answer represent the difference between zero and unknown?
Extra practice, at your own pace. You do not need to submit anything. This does not count towards an automatic assessment.

You remain in control
What do you want to improve in your next attempt?
On this device only. AI answers remain only in this page memory. This is self-review, not a grade.
Why this approach works
Files can combine text, tables, and images. A successful upload does not prove that every component was correctly interpreted.
A step further
Make a copy of the practice table with one empty field. How should the answer represent the difference between zero and unknown?
Try & discover · no obligation
Become the source checker yourself
Only mark statements that the source does not support. Then check your selection.
Fictitious source: the workshop is Saturday from 10 to 11 o'clock, online. The price and calendar date are not yet known.
Select which sentences you would correct above. The answer remains hidden until you check your selection.
This trial works locally with fictitious data and does not count towards your lesson completion. It starts anew with a new lesson or reload.
A prompt to get you started
Summarise this document in 5 points. For each point, mention the relevant section. Do not invent extra information. Document: [upload].
Apply it
You upload a public report. The AI mentions a conclusion, but the specified page number does not contain it.
Which approach best fits this situation?
- Find the conclusion in the original and mark it as unconfirmed if it is missing.
- Adopt the conclusion because there is a page number.
- Let the model invent a more appropriate page number.
With JavaScript, you can check your approach and receive immediate feedback.
Test your insight
What should you always do after a AI analysis of a document?
- Use the analysis immediately.
- Locate the mentioned points in the original document.
- Nothing.
Extra practice
Describe what type of document you would upload and what question you would ask about it.
Uploading a public report and asking for the three most important conclusions with page numbers.
