AI in your daily work

Turn a recurring task into a first practical application.

After this lesson

You describe a small application with clear input, output and human control.

In view · Step by step

From recurring work to a small trial

  1. Take a recurring task, such as structuring rough notes.

  2. Have AI extract decisions and actions from a small fictitious report.

  3. Check what is missing and how much post-processing is required.

Remember: Start with a task where you can assess the result yourself. Open het volledige schema ↗

Start small and recognisable

Choose a task that you do regularly and understand well yourself: a draft email, a meeting agenda or a summary of your own notes. Do not start with a task where you cannot assess the answer.

Give the model the right material

For good minutes, AI needs a good report. Ask to set decisions, actions, owners and deadlines apart. If someone or a date is missing, the result must indicate that. Never let missing agreements be filled in silently.

Maintain control over sending

A draft is not yet approved communication. Check recipients, facts and promises before you send anything. Use fictitious or approved data to practise. Keep the original material alongside the AI version as long as you need to check.

New practice example

From explanation to a usable result.

Start with a task that you understand yourself and for which you can verify the result.

Fictional practice situation

Fictional notes: Lina is making a draft poster. The meeting mentions no deadline. The room has been requested, but not yet confirmed.

View a possible solution

This is how it can be done

Action: create draft poster. Owner: Lina. Deadline: to be determined. Open point: confirmation of the room. The notes do not yet say that the event will definitely take place in that room.

Why this works

An action list separates tasks, decisions and open points. This way, a request does not silently become a confirmation.

Make it slightly more difficult

Add two contradictory deadlines to the notes. Place them next to each other as a conflict that someone must resolve.

Extra practice, at your own pace. You do not need to submit anything. This does not count towards an automatic assessment.

Ende, your light pink practice buddy

The fictitious source is included. Only when selecting ‘Let Ende answer’ do you send your assignment to the AI service. Do not use private data.

Present your assignment to Ende.

Why this approach works

An action list separates tasks, decisions and open points. This way, a request does not silently become a confirmation.

A step further

Add two contradictory deadlines to the notes. Place them next to each other as a conflict that someone must resolve.

A prompt to get you started

Turn the fictitious meeting notes below into an action list with columns action, owner and deadline. Use only explicit agreements. Put “to be determined” where information is missing. Then provide a maximum of three clarification questions. Notes: [your practice text].

Apply it

Meeting note: “Noor checks the invitation on Friday. Someone is still reserving the room.”

Two lines from a meeting. Illustration for the question.

Which action list follows the note exclusively?

  • Noor checks the invitation on Friday and also reserves the room on Friday.
  • Reserving the room is removed from the list because the name is missing.
  • Check invitation: Noor, Friday. Reserve room: owner and deadline yet to be determined.

With JavaScript, you can check your approach and receive immediate feedback.

Test your insight

A note with an open field. Illustration for the question.

In the notes, the owner of an action is missing. What should the summary do?

  • Fill in the most likely colleague.
  • Remove the action.
  • Mention that the owner is yet to be determined.
Extra practice

Describe één recurring task. Note which information you input, what you want to receive and which three points you check before use.

Task: preparing a customer email. Input: the question without personal data and our approved product information. Output: a short answer with één follow-up step. Control: is the offer correct, are we promising anything unauthorised and is the correct contact route mentioned?
